Shoot for the Stars!!!
Students at RES are recommended to receive a star if they have behavior that goes above and beyond teacher expectations. For example, we had one student who took it upon herself to create a crossword puzzle for her whole class with the class spelling words, and we had another student who gave up his time every morning to support a younger student. These students are given a "STAR". The STARS are read at the morning announcements and then the stars are mounted on the bulletin board outside the office. Once a week a STAR student's name is pulled from the jar and this student is given a chance to have lunch with a favorite teacher, or extra gym or art time. We even had a student who wanted to spend time with his former kindergarten teacher!! Stop by and look at the STARS!!
