Hello All!
Welcome to a brand new school year! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and the new PTO leaders for 2012-2013. My name is Sara Childs. I have three boys, Ben is about to begin 5th grade, Jacob is about to begin 2nd grade, and Braden is entering Preschool this fall! I have been an active PTO member since Ben was in Kindergarten and am I very excited to take on the role of President/ Co-Chair. I will be joined by Alizah Shriver as Vice President/ Co-Chair, Abby Davis as Treasurer, and Caj MacDonald as Secretary. There are also many others that help keep our PTO running successfully.
My vision is for parents to work together with our teachers at RES/JSMS to support our students. So many people have asked, "What does PTO do?" If you or someone you know asks that question, I encourage you to take one hour out of your month to join us for a meeting. We will plan on meeting each month on the 2nd Tuesday at 6:30. It's not a crazy or overbearing commitment, but it is a commitment that matters to your children and their teachers. We need you and would love to have you!
Shortfalls in the budget demand our support and teamwork through the PTO more than ever. I personally am very proud to be a part of this organization and how our community comes together as parents, teachers, community businesses for our children. Thank you so much for all that you contribute whether it be Hannaford dollars, Box Tops, Tyson labels, ink cartridges, old cell phones, time, and energy! It's truly appreciated.
