Staff Information and Resources The ESL program exists to support the community of students in Windham who are learning English as a second, third or fourth language. English is not or was not their primary language. The ESL program is governed by the Lau Plan, which outlines the general nature and practices of ESL teachers. It is the roadmap which directs the program. The ESL Department, with assistance from individual schools, cultural affairs committees, school principals and a volunteer-led steering committee, has sponsored the Family Heritage Festival for the past three years. The Festival is a time for the community to share their stories, histories, arts and crafts, food and music of their various cultures with one another.
