My Veteran Star

Nathan

My Papa, Lee Chaput, is my mom’s dad.  He was in the Air Force from 1952 to 1959.  He was an Intercept Radio Operator in the Security Service.  He was a Staff  Sergeant and worked with the Air Police.  He did not fly planes but did play sports with the 3’rd Air Force All Stars.  His best memories are of traveling to many Foreign Countries and also meeting Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip in 1953.

Once the marines in Japan got a shipment of thick woolly pants when it was really hot.  They thought that the marines in Europe got the shorts that they were supposed to get.
