Libraries

The Windham Public Library, with its first professional librarian, opened in 1971.  A major expansion to double the size of the library was completed in  1993.

The South Windham Library was originally in the old hose house near what was once Dow's Drugstore in South Windham.  It was moved across the bridge to the Gorham side of the river in 1933.

The Windham Center Circulating Library operated for over sixty-four years. This building was purchased in 1907 and closed in 1971.

The building was moved in 1973 and is now beside the Windham Public Library.  It is used by the people of the town.
