As Enrichment Teacher at Windham Primary School, I provide services to students on three levels.  First, I offer two whole class enrichment lessons in the fall for all grade 1-3 classrooms.  Second, I offer four 6-week Enrichment Cycles in four different content areas for teacher-recommended students.  Third, I am available to consult with teachers on specific teaching strategies to support potentially gifted/high achieving students.

What is the definition of giftedness?

On the website for the National Association for Gifted Children (www.nagc.org), a gifted person is defined as "someone who shows, or has the potential for showing, an exceptional level of performance in one or more areas of expression."  These areas may include:  specific academic abilities, general intellectual ability, creativity, leadership, and the visual and performing arts.
