Library Media Specialist

Amy Wells Denecker has worked with books throughout her education and career. Ms. Denecker has a degree in English from Wellesley College, and upon graduation, she began working at Random House Children's Books and HarperCollins Children's Books. After moving to Maine, Ms. Denecker taught English in both middle and high school. Ms. Denecker loves to help students  select the right book or complete a research project. She is also excited to collaborate with teachers by providing resources, information literacy instruction, and professional development opportunities.

Library Ed Tech

Mrs. Rachel Goodness. This is her second year at the High School Library. She was previously a Library Ed Tech at the Windham Primary School. She has been employed by the Windham School District for 8 years. 

L I B R A R Y  P O L I C I E S

  1. Students must have a pass to visit the library during the school day in compliance with school policy. Students are welcome without a pass before and after school.

  2. Students must arrive at the library on time and are required to sign in and out upon entering and exiting the library for any reason.

  3. Food and beverages are not permitted in the library to protect the library's resources.

  4. Students are expected to be respectful of the library staff and other patrons to ensure equitable use of resources and a productive environment for all.


C I R C U L A T I O N 

Students may sign out circulating books and magazines for three weeks at a time. Students will be fined 2 cents a day (excluding weekends, storm days and days off) for all overdue items. Overdue notices will be sent to students through homeroom teachers at the end of each quarter. Students are encouraged to take care of library obligations before the end of each school year. Students must pay all fines by their senior year, or they will not be able to march at graduation.


L I B R A R Y   R E S E R V A T I O N S

Teachers are encouraged to bring classes to the library for small group work, information literacy instruction, research assistance, book talks, or other help. Instructional assistance can also be provided in the classroom with prior notice. Please fill out a library instruction form available on the library web page at least 48 hours before  any instructional assistance that will require advanced research and planning.
