Project# 1: Letter
You have just seen Romeo and Juliet at the Globe Theater. You are to write a letter to your great-great-great-great-great-great-grandchildren describing your experience.
You are to include the following:
*Evidence that you have used the websites listed below that are relevant to your character
*At least three references to Romeo and Juliet (not the film adaptation, but the text of the play as Shakespeare wrote it)
STEP 1: Who are you?
*It is essential that you create a believable and historically accurate character:
You may choose to be a member of the gentry (upper class), a tradesperson/craftsman (middle class),
servant, or poor/unemployed (lower class). If you are a woman, your social status is determined by
your husband's position. If you are a member of the gentry or a tradesperson, you probably know how
to read and write. If you are at or below the level of a servant, you do not.If you choose to write from
the perspective of a servant or a poor person, pretend you have dictated your letter to someone who
can read and write.
