General Music

Each student in grades 4 and 5 comes to general music class for one period each week.  Our music learning takes place in the following types of experiences:  singing, playing classroom instruments (assorted percussion, Orff barred instruments, recorder, etc.), moving to music (marching, body percussion, folk dance, original choreography, etc.), listening to a varied repertory of music and responding to it in many ways, creating music, conducting, and reading music.

 

Windham?s music curriculum reflects the recommendations set forth in the STATE OF MAINE LEARNING RESULTS as well as the NATIONAL STANDARDS FOR MUSIC EDUCATION.

Real World Singers

 

The Real World Singing Club is a chorus open to all students in grades 4 and 5.  Chorus rehearsal is held in the Band Room (to the right of the front entry) each Wednesday at noon.
