Literacy Centers

We've started our Literacy Centers.  Centers allow children to try different literacy activities.  Once we are able to do them independently, I will be able to meet with children in small groups to work on reading.

Letter work!

Puzzles!

Our Name Game bottles are a hit!  The children try to find the letters for a friend's name and place it on the Name Game mat.

Using small whiteboards, the children practice writing letters and numbers.  They also copy words from around the class.

Using our laptops and www.starfall.com students practice letter identification, sounds and reading strategies.

Mrs. Kirby works with students illustrating the weekly Nursery Rhyme.

At the Letter Work center, Mrs. Fish helps a student complete his glitter name.

A freind works on literacy puzzles at the Puzzle Center.

We made hard hats and pretended to be construction workers after reading Dig, Dig, Digging!

Yes, even I donned a hard hat.
